I adore a good cake salé, yet I make it all too rarely. Reading this made me want to pull out my old notebooks – lardons and pruneaux, chèvre and roasted red pepper, Comté and olive. Thank you for the nudge, I feel one coming on very soon.
Baking is a form of Art. Art feeds our brains and bodies. Humans are made to be creative. I think you would enjoy the book “Your Brain on Art” by Ivy Ross and Susan Magsamum. Great insight in to all of this.

I am currently on a mission to organise a large tin of home baked treats to get to a friend in Ukraine who was really seriously injured by an FPV drone attack in Pokrovsk and is in the midst of months of surgery (and hospital food…) - but first I’ll have to make one of your savoury cakes!
